Automobile directions to Community Forklift from the WEST (central D.C.):

1. Head east on Michigan Ave.
2. About 1 mile past Catholic University, make a sharp right turn onto South Dakota Ave.
3. After 15 blocks or so, turn left onto Bladensburg Rd. heading northeast. Bladensburg Road veers left just after crossing the headwaters of the Anacostia River to become Baltimore Ave/Alt. Rte One.
4. Continue north Baltimore Ave for about _ mile and turn right on Tanglewood Drive. Tanglewood Drive is the 2nd intersection after passing the Cross Roads supper club.
5. Follow Tanglewood to the left. Community Forklift is the second building after you cross the railroad tracks.
6. Park in the courtyard on the right side of our building. The entrance is up a metal staircase on the left side of the parking courtyard. If that door is locked, walk back to the door near the entrance to the parking courtyard on the other side of a small brick wall, and push the buzzer to the left of the door. If that doesn't work, call Jim on his cell phone: 202/544-0069. There is a pay phone on Buchanan Street around the corner, not far from where it intersects 51st Ave. as well as an indoor pay phone in the entryway to the Three Brothers Italian Restaurant at the intersection of Kenilworth & Buchanan.

Automobile directions from the SOUTHWEST (Downtown DC or Arlington, Co., VA):

1. Head northeast on Rhode Island Ave. in DC (Route 1).
2. Cross Eastern Avenue into Mt. Rainier Maryland.
3. Keep going about 1.25 miles on Rhode Island Ave., passing through the small suburban municipalities of Brentwood, and North Brentwood.
4. Immediately after crossing a small bridge into Hyattsville, take a right turn on Charles Armentrout Drive, which runs under a railroad overpass.
5. Turn right at the first opportunity (Baltimore Ave.), cross over another small bridge, and…
6. Turn left to cross the divided highway at the very first opportunity, very near the end of the bridge. You will be on Tanglewood Drive heading East.
7. Follow the instructions from the WEST, starting at step #5.

Automobile directions from the SOUTH (SE DC or Capitol Heights, MD, or Eastern Fairfax, County Virginia):

1. From Washington (or the Beltway after crossing East across the Wilson Bridge) take Hwy. I-295 North to the Kenilworth Avenue/201 exit (the exit is near the exit for route 50).
2. Continue North on Kenilworth Avenue about 3 miles.
3. Pass the Go Kart Track (on your left) and take the next left onto Buchanan Street at the Noland Mechanical Equipment Store.
4. Stay on Buchanan for several blocks until it turns left and becomes Tanglewood Drive.
5. Our facility is just around the corner. If you cross railroad tracks you have gone too far.
6. See instruction 6 from the directions from the WEST (above).

Automobile instructions from the NORTH (Montgomery or Northern PG Co. or Western Fairfax County, Virginia):

1. From the Washington Beltway exit South at Exit 23 - Kenilworth Ave., also known as Hwy. 201.
2. Cross the East-West Highway (Hwy. 410) and continue another 1.2 miles to Buchanan Street (One block after Decatur St.).
3. Turn right onto Buchanan Street. If you pass a Go-Kart track you have gone too far.
4. Follow instructions 4-6 above under directions from the SOUTH.

Automobile Directions from the EAST (Eastern Prince George's County or Annapolis, MD):

1. From the Beltway head west on either
   • Hwy. 450 (Annapolis Road), or
   • Hwy. 50 (John Hanson Hwy.), & exit to Hwy. 202 west (Landover Road) and continue onto Hwy 450, or
   • Hwy. 202 (Landover Road) which merges with Hwy. 450
2. Continue on Hwy 450 (Annapolis Rd)
3. Cross Edmonston Road and take the next right - immediately after the Three Captains nightclub. This will put you onto Kenilworth Ave. heading north.
4. Follow the instructions 3-6 for directions from the SOUTH. {Note: If you cross railroad tracks after the Three Captains nightclub you have missed the turn- off to the ramp, in which case you can merge with Alt. Route One by following the road that curves to the right. Then follow the instructions from the WEST, starting at step #4.}

Directions to Community Forklift via TRANSIT

1. Take the Metro Red line to the Rhode Island Avenue Station, and then catch an 84 or 85 Metro bus. They run up Rhode Island Ave. then follow Bladensburg Road to Annapolis Road (the main drag in Bladensburg, MD), and turn up Edmonston Road. Exit at the corner of Edmonston Road and Tilden St. (which becomes Upshur as it goes West) at the intersection with the Bladensburg Visitors Center & Town Hall.
2. Walk one block to the West (left) to reach Kenilworth Ave. (Hwy 201), and then walk north (right) two long blocks (without sidewalks) to Buchanan Street. Walk left on Buchanan for a couple of long blocks where it will terminate into Tanglewood Drive. CF is the first large building around the corner to the left.
3. Then follow the automobile instructions from the WEST, step #6. You can also take the T18 bus from Rhode Island Ave. Station, but you'll have to walk one long block further because it doesn't turn up Edmonston Road.
4. Another alternative is taking the Metro Green line to the West Hyattsville Station, or the Orange line to the Cheverly Station, then, in either case, catch the F8 Metro bus to the intersection of Baltimore Ave. & Tanglewood Drive.
5. From there, walk to CF following the auto instructions from the WEST, starting at step #5.
