Will you accept my…Paint, deck seal, lacquers?
Until further notice, Community Forklift is NOT able to accept color paint. Only white, off-white, very light, or neutral paint and primer are accepted.
We can accept stain, sealants, adhesives, and other liquids only if they are completely full and the can is clean (no rust or damage). The label must be undamaged and completely readable. We are unable to accept any liquids or chemicals without a complete label.
Quart and gallon cans must be full to be accepted.
5-Gallon Buckets that are at least 2 gallons full are accepted.
If it has gone bad, we cannot accept it (How do you know if it has gone bad? If it smells like rotten eggs, looks lumpy, moldy, or has been stored in an unheated garage and possibly frozen, we cannot accept it).
If it is over 5 years old, we cannot accept it (After 5 years, even if it has been stored properly, the quality of the paint starts to degrade and it becomes streaky or does not adhere well).
Remember, it's always best to call if you have any questions (301-985-5180). We reserve the right to accept or reject things on a case-by-case basis, depending on condition and how many items we already have in that category. This list may change at any time but we will make every effort to update this regularly and send Deconstruction Services an updated list.
